With just six weeks left, actually five weeks and six days left to cram in the last of the planning, it's safe to say I'm officially bricking it!! At least another four people have come up to me this week and said "Oh my you're doing so well, you can plan my wedding" Well I can tell you this, planning a wedding is enough to put anybody off divorce, because who on this earth would want to risk possibly going through all of this AGAIN?! So do it yourselves! Now obviously, aside of all the number crunching, sleepless nights, table plans and misplaced household bill payments, slipped in to budget busting forgotten necessities, there is a very sweet side to all of this, a very redeeming quality about looking in to Ages eyes and seeing how excited he is, and although at times I may regret romanticised ideas, like, sugared flowers for the tables and hand decorated envelopes, there is a certain therapeutic nature to them and once I'm in the swing of the action, in my head I could be doing yoga on some far off beach, listening to the waves crash near my feet and feeling ahhhhhh I'm already married and never have to do it again!
There is also the excitement of waiting for things to arrive, like my sons suit, unfortunately it was delayed but today is finally the day for it to arrive! And I am filling up with butterflies now as I write this. My Kye, so big now, picturing him walking in front of me down the aisle in his beautiful suit, it's enough to bring a tear to anybodies eye! There has also been whispers of a possible speech, for an 8 year old to even consider standing up in front of all those people and saying how awesome his Mummy is (hopefully) and possibly throwing in the odd fart joke, I mean that's beautiful right, even just considering it! Plan of action today, coo over suit and keep on sugaring leaves and flowers, also catch up with an old friend, because as important as it is to get things done it is also important to take a little time out and refresh your brain, because remember the wedding may be just one hugely special day, but the marriage is a life time and that's what's important! xx
