With just six weeks left, actually five weeks and six days left to cram in the last of the planning, it's safe to say I'm officially bricking it!! At least another four people have come up to me this week and said "Oh my you're doing so well, you can plan my wedding" Well I can tell you this, planning a wedding is enough to put anybody off divorce, because who on this earth would want to risk possibly going through all of this AGAIN?! So do it yourselves! Now obviously, aside of all the number crunching, sleepless nights, table plans and misplaced household bill payments, slipped in to budget busting forgotten necessities, there is a very sweet side to all of this, a very redeeming quality about looking in to Ages eyes and seeing how excited he is, and although at times I may regret romanticised ideas, like, sugared flowers for the tables and hand decorated envelopes, there is a certain therapeutic nature to them and once I'm in the swing of the action, in my head I could be doing yoga on some far off beach, listening to the waves crash near my feet and feeling ahhhhhh I'm already married and never have to do it again!
There is also the excitement of waiting for things to arrive, like my sons suit, unfortunately it was delayed but today is finally the day for it to arrive! And I am filling up with butterflies now as I write this. My Kye, so big now, picturing him walking in front of me down the aisle in his beautiful suit, it's enough to bring a tear to anybodies eye! There has also been whispers of a possible speech, for an 8 year old to even consider standing up in front of all those people and saying how awesome his Mummy is (hopefully) and possibly throwing in the odd fart joke, I mean that's beautiful right, even just considering it! Plan of action today, coo over suit and keep on sugaring leaves and flowers, also catch up with an old friend, because as important as it is to get things done it is also important to take a little time out and refresh your brain, because remember the wedding may be just one hugely special day, but the marriage is a life time and that's what's important! xx

Operation Wedding.... Update!

Good afternoon bloggers, thought I'd escape here for a few moments between making favours and table decorations can't believe that it is just 62 days until the wedding that's right Weds the 14th May (I have been told off for not posting the date even though it is on your invites!) is just 62 days away, and currently I'm wondering if it will all be complete! I suppose if worst comes to worst I have my dress and Adrian has his suit and as long as we pay the registrar we will definitely be hitched! And that is all that matters really, who cares about a drinks package, well you lot probably ;) My mission this week is to get my dapper boy Kye kitted out with his suit and to lovingly cover hundreds of daisies and mint leaves with sugar, because I'm in love with the idea of sparkly, edible table decorations! I remember at the beginning of this planning, knowing it would come to this time and knowing all the handmade favours and decorations would drive me nuts, yet in some beautiful way I'm happy I'm stressed with it because our day is worth it, and all those little things, that most might not even notice, mean the world to us.........

Welcome to our Wedding Blog!

Welcome to our wedding blog. I sit here now with exactly 17 weeks 2 hours and 20 minutes until the wedding and I must say I'm rather excited if not a tad nervous! Over the past year since getting engaged we have had a lot of help from friends and family so I'd like to start by saying thanks to you all, our parents Janet, Ken, Cathy and Tommy who have been financial and emotional rocks and have taxied us everywhere we have needed to be! My bridesmaids Holly and Kelly for fully embracing all my ridiculous ideas. Ages best man/men, Elliot, Mitchel, Nick, Jonny and Dolby who will be providing all the music and in general being spiffing chaps. My wonderful friends Leren the creator of the bridesmaid dresses and Tori the creator of invites and this blog, their unique style and dedication to the cause has made stressful times so much easier. Their are many more people who have been involved and we thank you all from the bottom our hearts....
